Dr. Kevin: A Personal Approach to Dental Care
At Jaffar Dental, Dr. Kevin embodies a commitment to providing a personalised and involved approach to every patient's treatment journey. With a dedication to excellence and perfection, Dr. Kevin takes pride in personally overseeing all stages of treatment, both in and out of the dental chair.
By being personally involved in every aspect of a patient's care, Dr. Kevin ensures that each individual receives the highest standard of attention and expertise. Whether it's a routine cleaning or a complex procedure, Dr. Kevin's hands-on involvement guarantees that patients receive the best possible care tailored to their specific needs.
Moreover, at Jaffar Dental, most services are professionally undertaken in the chair, eliminating the need for patients to seek out specialists for routine procedures. This approach not only saves valuable time but also offers cost-effective solutions, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive care within the comfort of our practice.

  • A professional dental check up and clean, also known as a scale and polish, removes plaque and tartar that regular brushing at home cannot. This helps prevent cavities and gum disease. Recommended to be completed every 6 months.

  • Periodontal cleaning, often referred to as a “deep clean”, is a non-surgical procedure for treating gum disease. It removes plaque and tartar from teeth, especially below the gums, and smooths root surfaces to promote healing, reduce gum inflammation, prevent bone loss, and to improve oral health. Completed in 4 appointments for thorough care and comfortability.

  • Fillings are a routine procedure to repair teeth damaged by decay or trauma. The cavitated part is removed to rebuild the tooth, restoring it’s shape and function for a long lasting approach to preventing further decay and strengthening the tooth.

  • Root canal treatment is a three-stage dental procedure that becomes necessary when the nerve of the tooth is affected, usually as a result of trauma or infection. This trauma/infection can lead to the nerves of the tooth dying off, resulting in significant pain. This treatment option serves as an alternative to the need for extraction and offers a viable solution with the potential to preserve the natural structure and function of the tooth.

Over the course of the three appointments the nerves of the affected tooth are thoroughly removed, resulting in the eradication of pain and infection. Typically, there is a gap of 1-2 weeks between each stage of the process, ensuring thorough and precise treatment. During the final stage, the roots of the tooth, where the nerves used to be, are carefully filled with a specialised material. This restoration process aims to restore the tooth's structural integrity and prevent the recurrence of any infection.

  • Dental crowns and bridges are common restorative treatments used to repair damaged or heavily filled teeth. A dental crown, also known as a cap, is custom-made to fit the tooth, restoring its strength, size, and shape. It can improve the tooth's appearance and functionality. Dental bridges are used to replace one or more missing teeth. It consists of two crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap with the artificial tooth/teeth in between. Both crowns and bridges are crafted to blend seamlessly with the natural teeth, providing long-term solutions for improved dental health and function.

  • Dentures are custom-made devices to replace missing teeth, helping with chewing and speech. They can be partial or full and are typically made from acrylic, metal, or a combination of both materials based on function and patient needs.

  • A dental extraction is a procedure where a tooth is carefully and gently removed from its socket in the bone of the jaw. Our team understands that sometimes teeth need to be removed for various reasons, such as severe decay or infection, advanced gum disease, or to create space for orthodontic treatment. Our experienced team are dedicated to ensuring this procedure is painless and atraumatic.

  • Professional teeth whitening services are available to help brighten and revitalise your teeth for a more confident smile. Our convenient take-home kits seamlessly integrate with your lifestyle and provide a much gentler option for sensitive teeth, all at a fraction of the cost of in-chair whitening treatments.

  • Composite veneers, dental crowns & dental bridges are effective cosmetic dental treatments that can enhance the appearance of your smile.

  • The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is an Australian Government program that provides access to up to $1,095 in benefits over two consecutive calendar years, covering most basic general dental services (but not specialist services like orthodontics or services provided under general anaesthetic.)

Children must be between 2 and 17 years old and qualify for Medicare to receive the CDBS. Recipients of Family Tax Benefit Part A, Parenting Payment or Double Orphan Pension Payments are also entitled to it.

If children are not covered by the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), we are still able to provide dental services at private prices and facilitate claiming through their health funds.
